MILLERSBURG -- Wayne F. Pyers, 66, of Millersburg passed away Friday morning, June 9, 2017, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, after an extended illness.

Graveside services were Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, with the Rev. Tom Benter officiating. Friends called from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster 44691.

He was born May 1, 1951, in Millersburg, the son of William and Virginia (Lengacher) Pyers, and married Peggy Ames on June 19, 1970. She survives.

Wayne was a 1969 graduate of West Holmes High School and had worked 42 years for The J.M. Smucker Co. in Orrville, retiring in 2014. He enjoyed following all the Cleveland sports teams and Sprint Car racing. His greatest joy was being with his grandkids and attending any and all of their events.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Lorie (Steve) Martin of Killbuck, Heather (Matt) Sprang of Lakeville and Ashley (Jack) Moutoux of Millersburg; grandchildren, Caleb, Graham and Peyton Martin, Katie, Samuel and Nathan Sprang, and Harley and Griffon Moutoux; a sister, Carol (Tom) Pulley of Dallas,Texas; and a brother, John (Debbie) Pyers of Columbus.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
