LAS VEGAS -- Esther (Groh) Burger McMillen, 95, of Las Vegas passed away May 25, 2017, in Las Vegas.
She was born Dec. 21, 1921, in New Philadelphia to Cletus and Minnie (Huff) Groh. She was a graduate of NPHS in 1940 and Cameron School of Cosmetology in Columbus.
In 1942, she moved to Baltic, when she married Kenneth Burger. He passed away in 1968. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, WSCS and was a Youth Fellowship leader. She was also a member of Baltic Women's Study Club.
Esther was a 70-year member of the Eastern Star, serving as a Deputy Grand Matron in 1961.
In 1972, she married Thomas McMillen Sr. and moved to the Shreve area. She was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church and the Lend a Hand Club.
Esther owned her own beauty shop in Dover, Baltic and later in her home in the Shreve area.
Surviving are a son, Jeffry (Diane) Burger and Rebecca (James) Cypher, both of Las Vegas; her stepson, Thomas Jr. (Shirley) McMillen of Shreve; three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; seven step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; a stepson, Jeffery McMillen; and sisters, Marguerite (Jack) McCluskey, Mary (Earl) Ball and Dorothy (Donald) Fishel.
A memorial service was held at a later date at Hopewell Presbyterian Church.
