BIG PRAIRIE -- Raymond L. "Butch" Moore Jr., 70, of Big Prairie, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after complications from a sudden illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Friends called Friday, April 28, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve. Private family memorial services were held at a later date. Online condolences may be shared with the family at schlabachfh.com.
He was born March 5, 1947, in Wooster to Raymond L. and Janet (Lyons) Moore Sr. and married Dolores Jane Hixson on May 20, 1967. They were married for 29 years.
Butch was self-employed his entire life and was a notorious tinkerer. He served in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army in 1967-70 and was a member of Loudonville American Legion.
He enjoyed his yearly trips to Las Vegas with his fellow buddies in the 190th Ordnance Group. In Butch's spare time you could usually catch him out at the Round Lake Golf course, where he was a member.
Surviving are children, Marke (B.J.) Moore, Angela Moore-Perman, Kristopher (Erika) Moore; granddaughters, Kealey Moore, McKenna Moore, Grace Perman, Averi Moore, Alayna Perman and Eden Moore; sisters, Jennifer Moore Miller of Illinois and Meredith Moore of Iowa; and a half-sister, Paula Ray Whyde (Moore) of Orrville; several nephews and a niece, and his high school sweetheart and long-time partner, Sis (Beckler) Derkovich and her children, Sheryl (George) Mandeville and Kristine Derkovich; a grandson, Kyle and many Moore extended family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents.
