Margaret Blythe, 81, New Philadelphia

1935-2017

NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Margaret D. Blythe, 81, of New Philadelphia, entered into rest Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, after a period of declining health.

She was born June 9, 1935, in Donora, Pa., to Philip Lee and Margaret (Wilson) Fine, and was formerly of the Holmesville area, moving to Wooster in 1986. She had been a resident at Hennis Care Center in Dover for the last few years.

She had been a long-time member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in both Wooster and in New Philadelphia, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed games and loved playing bingo. She had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. She loved being around children and especially adored spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Surviving are her daughter, Melinda Sue (Keith) Lenkner of Grove City, Pa.; grandchildren, Jessica and James McConnell, Chloe, William, Emma and Brandon Lenkner; a great-grandson, Malcolm Rasheed; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert H., Philip Lee and Vernon W. Fine; and a sister, Phyllis Bertoncello.

Visitation was Friday from 11 a.m.-noon at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster, with graveside services to follow at 1 p.m. in Wooster Cemetery. Memorial services will follow on Friday at 7 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Philadelphia. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.custerglenn.com.
