Top-seeded Hiland ran its record to 22-1 with a big victory over visiting Conotton Valley last Thursday night. Then in the finals, the Hawks were even more impressive in routing Bellaire St. John Central on Saturday.

The Hawks sprinted to a 27-3 lead after a quarter -- and then stepped on the gas, outscoring the Rockets 33-5 in the second period for a 60-8 halftime lead in a first-round Div. IV win.
Angela Troyer led a whopping six Hawks in double figures with 21 points as Hiland shot 59 percent from the field (38 of 65). Tiffany Weaver scored 16 points, Kimberly Miller had 15, Sara Keim and Kennedy Schlabach both contributed 11 and Jessica Troyer added 10 markers. Jessica Troyer had nine of Hiland's 29 steals and Schlabach eight, as the Hawks forced CV into 37 turnovers and held the Rockets to four field goals in 19 attempts.

Hiland put on another clinic in lambasting St. John Central in a sectional final game in Berlin, rolling to an 89-point victory.
The Hawks (23-1) were led by Angela Troyer, who paced five players in double figures with 23 points and five rebounds. Morgan McMillen added 19 points, eight boards and five assists. Kennedy Schlabach and Jessica Troyer each contributed 12 points each, with Schlabach handing out a game-high eight assists.
Hiland advanced to play Fort Frye on Wednesday (March 1) in a district semifinal contest.
