Class focus is on meals for 1 or 2

MILLERSBURG -- Cooking for one or two people can be very different than cooking for a family. Most recipes make four-six servings, so there's often more food than what is needed. This can lead to overeating.

Given that, Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension Educator and Registered Dietitian, asks, "Do you . . .

get tired of eating leftovers?"

need some kitchen inspiration?"

like to cook seasonal dishes?"

She invites anyone answering in the affirmative to any of those questions to join her for a fun perspective on food in "Cooking with Kate."

At the classes, participants can watch new recipes being prepared, see helpful kitchen gadgets in action, gain practical cooking tips and techniques and taste all of the foods prepared.

"You can have easy, quick, and healthy meals at home," Shumaker said.

"Cooking with Kate" is divided into three sessions: Better with Time (make ahead dishes), Pasta Pleasers and Seasonal Selections. Each session features four easy and delicious dishes.

Programs will be held in the Love Center Community Room, at 1291 Massillon Road, Millersburg, on March 28, April 4 and April 11, 6-8 p.m. The cost is $5 per person for the series.
